Paine’s Creek
Paine’s Creek is a close runner up in our quest for the best beach on Cape Cod for young kids. It does not have as much room as some other beaches, but what it does have is its very own lazy river ride. Bring your favorite inflatable float or inner tube. Paine’s Creek flows slowly through the marsh and out to the beach, creating a wonderful outdoor playground for the kids. Our three, John, Michael, and Julia, ages 10, 9, and 4, absolutely love this place. Don’t forget the nets for catching crabs, grass shrimp, and small fish that call this place home. The ice cream truck makes regular stops.
Paine’s Creek is located at the end of Paine’s Creek Rd. off of Rt 6A. Parking is very limited.
Tip: If you have a bike rack, bring a bike with you. Drop the family off at the beach, park at one of the local establishments, and the beach is just a short bike ride away. Oh yeah, and there is no parking permit required for bikes.
